Wesley Snipes Calls On Caktuz To Storyboard Last Film Before Conviction

In the Summer of 2009, Caktuz was fortunate enough to receive a call from Wesley Snipes’ office requesting his illustration talents to storyboard a film in production.

Caktuz, as an award winning graphic designer, has been commissioned by various celebs, corporations, and private collectors for his one-of-a-kind stylized characters and interpretation of action and movement. It was this skill set that by a ‘person of color’ that Wesley admired about Caktuz from the start.

“The 1st day I got to LA, he told me…”; Caktuz recalls of his 1st meeting with SnipesĀ  “…that not only was my work on point, but it made him proud to be able to reach back and bring one of his own up. There is still a huge stigma present within any business that stereotypes blacks as being difficult to work with. I think he was impressed most by my professionalism and ability to give them what they wanted and more.”

Caktuz impressed Wesley so much he called him backĀ  in 2010 to spend the entire summer in LA storyboarding Snipes’ next film. Unfortunately, Wesley was ordered to turn himself in to the Dept. of Corrections before production on the film could start.

Our prayers go out to you Wesley.
